How can I help the flood victims in our community?

Camp ACC

  • Appalachian Christian Camp is housing families who have been displaced by flood damage and volunteers supporting relief efforts. Because of this work they’re in need of a lot of extra hands.

FCC Elizabethton

  • FCC Elizabethton is housing the staff members and out of town volunteers working with IDES and are looking for teams that would like to provide dinner and bagged lunches for 20-25 people. They would appreciate it if those who prepare meals would stay and share the meal with the team. Teams typically eat around 6pm.

Little Milligan Baptist Church/Elementary

  • Volunteers Needed from 9am-6pm (Most pressing need between 9am and 2pm) to sort through donations and assist with distribution at Little Milligan Elementary. No sign-up needed, just show up!

Cherry Grove Baptist Church

  • 104 Cherry Grove Rd. Jonesborough, TN 
  • You may sign up for a future date HERE, or you can just show up!  
  • They need help sorting, boxing up, and distributing donations.

Unicoi Christian Church

  • Hosts needed for 4-hour shifts at Unicoi Christian Church Fellowship Hall as they receive donations and guests needing WiFi and electricity access.
  • Please note that times are shifting from 8am-8pm to 2pm-6pm. This complements other long term resources available in Erwin and Unicoi County.
  • You can sign up for a shift HERE. Please note that many shifts have one person signed up for them already, but they would prefer to have two for each shift.

Appalachia Service Project (ASP)

Samaritan's Purse

  • You can find opportunities to serve in Western Northern Carolina through Samaritan’s Purse by clicking HERE
Bristol Motor Speedway will serve as a major donation and collection site, provide logistics for search and rescue operations in a central staging area, and also house a regional disaster relief hotline.  
Donation Drop-off will be located at the Donations Reception Center (DRC) on the Bristol South Entrance/Entrance #2.  The DRC will be open to receive donations from 8am-6pm, seven days a week until the need no longer exists.  The DRC unloading zones will use the NASCAR Blvd (Bristol South Entrance #2), via coned lanes and using digital message boards to organize traffic flow.
